HOW TO PLAY
The person who sets up the game is “THE HOST”.
Set up a game by inviting at least 3 but no more than 12 of your friends who could use a good laugh. This is a “Guess Who Said What” game so the odds of matching Players to their responses are pretty good at 3 Players and much harder at 12.
Each round a different Player will be the Reader and will choose the topic for that round. (e.g. THINGS... Gorillas think when they see humans at the zoo.) Every Player, including the Reader will write a response to that topic. The Reader reads all the responses out loud:
“Wow! Now that’s premature baldness.”
“Ooooh, Ooooh, Ooooh, I wanna be like you Oooh Oooh.”
“Okay that’s enough. Tap the glass one more time buddy and...”
Then the Player next to the reader will have the first guess to match up any response to any Player. If that Player’s guess is correct, they get one (1) point and another guess. If they are incorrect the guess moves to the next Player. Once a Player is matched to their Response they are “knocked out” of the round and are no longer able to guess.
The Player that has not been matched to their response at the end of the round gets three (3) bonus points. The app will tally all the points from each round to declare a winner but don’t let the points distract you: If you are laughing, you are winning.
The number of rounds is decided by the number of players at the start of the game which gives each Player a chance to be the Reader and choose a topic.
HOW TO START A GAME
On the Home screen tap the “CREATE GAME” button. You will then be prompted to select a theme, avatar and username. You should now be in the Game Lobby where you will tap the “INVITE” button to invite your friends (3 to 12 players).
After everyone appears in the Game Lobby tap the “START” button to begin.
TAKING BREAKS DURING THE GAME
Need a quick break? Tap the “SIT OUT” button in the drop-down menu. This will allow the game to progress without you. Hit the “REJOIN” button when you are ready to play again.
If a Player leaves the game and forgets to hit the “SIT OUT”, the Host can tap on the Player’s Avatar and then tap “SIT OUT” to continue play. Once the Player comes back they can tap.
HOW TO REMOVE SOMEONE FROM A GAME
The Host may remove a Player from the game at any time by tapping on that Player’s avatar and then tapping the “KICK” button.
LOCAL PLAY vs VIRTUAL PLAY
LOCAL PLAY: designed to be played like the physical party game when all Players are in the same location but forgot the box.
VIRTUAL PLAY: Designed to be played when some or all of the Players are in different locations anywhere in the world. It works well with a video call happening at the same time but doesn’t require it.
THE DIFFERENCE: In LOCAL Play when the responses are all submitted, they are revealed only to the Reader who then reads them out loud to everyone. This is to encourage more personal interaction so that Players are not always looking at their phone when everyone is in the same room. When it’s your turn to guess you will see all of the responses. In VIRTUAL Play, all Players see all of the responses as soon as they are submitted and then again when it’s their turn to guess.
Both versions work in any situation. These are suggested ways to play.
